PPMU’s herd of milk cows has grown to over 16 head. The growth of our herd is a big success for the ministry. The milk produced supplements the children’s food program while contributing to our goal of self-sustainability. We also use our herd to teach the kids animal husbandry which meets Ugandan agricultural educational standards.

We like to have a little fun here at PPMU, so each time a cow is purchased it is lovingly named after its donor.  We have Susan, Angela, Rose, Cat and Sharon, just to name a few! Our teachers and children fondly pray for and bless the donors when they hear the cows names.

PPMU purchases pregnant cows so that upon giving birth, they will start producing milk. Our milkers produce approximately five gallons of milk a day. Male calves which ultimately become bulls, are traded with other farmers to prevent inbreeding. Always a servant leader and farmer at heart, Innocent loves to join in helping with the care and maintenance of our cows.

Become a part of our herd by buying a cow who will be named after you! Estimated cost of a dairy cow is $500 US.
